I just started using the beta test software for my search, and so far I like it. I'm wondering about the "Organizations" links, though -- are these just for the companies I'm applying to, or should I also set up Organizations that link to other kinds of groups that my contacts might belong to, for instance, school alums, people who are in my online group, contacts through my parents, etc. Has anyone tried this? How does it help? Thanks--

Great question. We purposely left "Organization" as a generic term because you can use it for all of the things that you mention. Within PerfectJob we use our software to track our alliances and sales. They make it an easy way to see relationships between people, relationships between people and jobs, and to organize Activities and other information. Here are a few of the ways I use Organizations:
* I enter the Company each person (Contact) works for -- that way when I see a job opening I immediately see who I know at that company. (By the way, you can enter a person's title when you link them to the Company)
* I enter any volunteer organizations I know about for Contacts, and also enter recent past jobs -- this helps my networking to know who to talk to, and who is likely to know whom
* I enter Organizations that I'm interested in, even before I know anyone there -- it gives me a place to collect my research, and gives me a place to start linking Activities and person as I progress in the search.
I am sure there are a few dozen other ways to use this too.
